First Rosary March in San Antonio, Texas/ Primera caminata del Rosario en San Antonio, Tejas

(Versión en español más abajo)

Overall the Rosary March in San Antonio for the consecration of Texas to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was a success. At first, I was reluctant to lead such an event because I didn’t feel qualified to do so, but with a lot of help from my brothers in the Carlist Circle everything went well. I was pleasantly surprised after I arrived at the Alamo when I was met by a number of other people who had heard about the event on various forms of social media. One person read the article on OnePeter5, another was informed about the event by a Mexican priest on social media, and another learned about it through the San Antonio Association of Families.

After I introduced myself, passed out flyers for everyone, and explained briefly why we had organized the event and who the Carlists were and what we stood for we began the rosary. Everyone brought their own rosaries and they all knew the prayers. Near the end of the rosary, a member of our group was approached by a policeman who informed him that were were breaking the law by praying there and that we needed to go to a designated “free speech zone” about a half block away from where we were. While the policeman was doing his best to interrupt our efforts, I simply ignored him, and spoke louder so that the rest of the group could continue our prayers. When we had finished we went near the area the policeman had ordered us and I learned what he had said. Then we all exchanged information and I started a text chat group to share information and pictures and keep in touch with them. I gave them links to the website and showed them where to get the PDF of the flyer so they could spread the word in their circles. Initially I didn’t feel as though I could lead such an event and have it be a success. Now I know better. The men of the Carlist Circle have been a huge inspiration for me and I am eager to learn more and spread the cause to more people so we can ultimately be successful in our goal of obtaining the consecration. I am amazed at how fast this movement is growing and I take it as a sign that we are doing the will of Christ our King.
