In this springtime of apostasy when many churches are emptying and closing, more than 3,000 traditionalist Catholics in Kansas (USA) joyfully and reverently attended the consecration of a splendid new church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception yesterday, May 3, the feast of the Finding of the Holy Cross. The church belongs to St. Mary’s Priory of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X.
For more than 45 years, the faithful of Kansas had been celebrating Mass in classrooms, in a converted cafeteria and in an auditorium. Now they will be able to attend the celebration of the traditional Holy Mass in one of the most beautiful churches in the United States.
Thousands of Catholics around the world listened online to the homily in which Bishop Bernard Fellay, SSPX, meditated on the construction of the church in the middle of Kansas: “One wonders why so much interest in a single church in the middle of Kansas. How can the Fraternity afford such a magnificent church? These churches do not proceed primarily from money. They come from the faithful who have the Faith. They are works of Faith. And people are convinced, convinced of their faith, of their duty to glorify God. This faith will move mountains.”
LA ESPERANZA congratulates the Catholics of Kansas. May these works of Faith, which are producing such splendid fruit there for the Glory of God, serve as an examination of conscience for the traditionalist faithful in the rest of the world.
We invite our readers to watch a video of the ceremony.
