The Círculo Carlista Felipe II de Manila cordially invites both local members and history enthusiasts to its upcoming II Virtual Monthly Conference, scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time). In line with the organization’s ongoing commitment to fostering historical study and intellectual enrichment, this session will feature a lecture entitled «From Córdoba to Sulu: The Islamic Conquest of Spain and the Philippines,» presented by the head of the circle, Mr. Lawrence Alym Cawas-Samoy.

The conference aims to offer participants a comprehensive understanding of the historical dynamics surrounding the expansion of Islam across two distinct regions. The discussion will begin with an examination of early Islamic history, tracing the origins of the faith through the life of its founder and his immediate successors. Building upon this background, the lecture will explore the Islamic conquest of the Iberian Peninsula following the collapse of the Visigothic Kingdom, detailing the establishment and legacy of nearly seven centuries of Muslim rule in Spain. In the final portion of the presentation, the focus will shift to the Philippine archipelago, highlighting the arrival, spread, and comparative administrative policies of Islam in Mindanao and Sulu.

This event will be conducted virtually, participation is open to all who wish to join in this comparative historical inquiry. Interested attendees are advised to obtain access details by contacting the head of the circle or sending a message to the official Círculo Carlista Felipe II de Manila Facebook page.
