El resultado de la política partidista
La lista de partidos políticos que publicamos en el artículo anterior ni es exhaustiva ni pretende ser la última palabra sobre el tema. Son sólo algunos de los más importantes que están en el poder y cuya información está disponible en la red. Es obvio que cualquier filipino católico que piense correctamente se estremecerá de horror ante la mera mención de los nombres de estos partidos políticos y las monstruosas ideologías que representan.
¿Haría falta decir algo de los partidos ilegales cuya ideología es el comunismo? Sin embargo, los filipinos, como perros que vuelven a su vómito, sin tener en cuenta su herencia católica y ajenos a la situación de caos que ha producido la política partidista, continúan mirando a estos partidos como sus salvadores seculares.
Y los partidos que se identifican como conservadores, no son otra cosa que versiones de la Revolución que esconden sus peores aspectos, tal como explica el profesor Miguel Ayuso Torres: «el conservadurismo sólo conserva la Revolución haciéndola más apetecible para los católicos».
Por último, la siguiente cita de Belén Perfecto, publicado en La Esperanza, resume el desastre de la política partidista en todas las Españas: «Hoy Herodes no necesita ejércitos, ni espadas. Le bastan los votos de los católicos ciegos y sordos para justificar la matanza de los inocentes. Porque hoy Herodes es un demócrata».
El liberalismo en todas sus formas es condenado por la Iglesia
Podemos leer una crítica al liberalismo basta en la monumental obra del gran P. Félix Sardà y Salvany. Ese liberalismo condujo al americanismo que se apoderó de Filipinas. Es la exaltación del espíritu de la capacidad humana individual para «construir» el «mundo mejor» sin una completa y humilde sumisión a todo lo que contiene el depósito de la Fe que el Verbo Encarnado, Nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, confió exclusivamente a la Iglesia Católica. Se trata, pues, de la exaltación del indiferentismo religioso (la creencia de que no importa a qué religión se pertenezca, si es que se pertenece a alguna, siempre que se sea una persona «buena») sin necesidad de creer en la única y verdadera Fe: el catolicismo que proporciona los medios primarios de salvación y orden social.
Una filosofía de la política verdaderamente católica
No pretendemos desalentar el compromiso de los filipinos de suprimir activamente los males morales de la sociedad y de perseguir causas sociales legítimas. Sin embargo, el católico tradicionalista filipino debe comprender los principios políticos y morales que están en juego en su propia cultura. No se puede esperar una paz y un orden permanentes en la política filipina, mientras los errores del liberalismo dominen la mentalidad del pueblo filipino, o de cualquier otro de las Españas y del resto de la antigua Gran Cristiandad. En el círculo no pensamos que el católico filipino de tendencia «conservadora» deba sostener, como ideal, el mismo sistema que nos dio los terribles problemas que están causando nuestros actuales males políticos.
La perfección de la filosofía de la política católica es ir incluso más allá del confesionalismo. Es lograr la Unidad Católica para el propio país: que no sólo reconozca a Nuestro Señor Jesucristo como Rey y a la Iglesia católica romana como la única y verdadera Iglesia de Cristo, sino que también aplique en los reinos las leyes de Cristo en todos los aspectos de la sociedad. Esto fue una realidad en Filipinas como parte de la Monarquía Católica española. Por muy aparentemente lejano e imposible que pueda parecer el retorno a este estado de cosas, debe ser, sin embargo, por definición, el ideal del católico filipino, ya que un católico no sería católico si no deseara tal estado de cosas para su país. La causa de la Hispanidad es la causa de todo buen católico en estos territorios.

The Result of Partisan Politics
These are by no means an exhaustive list of the political parties nor is it the last word on the matter. They’re just among the mainstream ones currently in power whose information is readily available online. It is obvious that any right thinking filipino Catholic will shudder in horror at the mere mention of the names of these political parties and the monstrous ideologies that they represent. What more of those parties that are unapproved among whom we find communism as their common ideology? Yet, time and again filipinos unmindful of their Catholic past and oblivious to the shambolic situation that partisan politics has produced look to these parties as their secular saviours like dogs returning to their vomit.
Even to those parties that identify as «conservative», they are nothing other than versions of the Revolution hiding their worst aspects.
To paraphrase Prof. Miguel Ayuso Torres:« Conservatism only conserves the Revolution by making it more palatable to Catholics».
Finally, the following quote by Belén Perfecto sums up the disaster of partisan politics in all of the Spains: «Today Herod does not need armies, nor swords. The votes of blind and deaf Catholics are enough for him to justify the slaughter of the innocent. Because today Herod is a democrat».
Liberalism in all Forms condemned by the Church
For a critique of Liberalism it is enough to read the monumental work by the great Fr. Félix Sardà y Salvany. Liberalism led to Americanism that took hold of the Philippines. It is the exaltation of the spirit of individual human ability to “build” the “better world” without a complete and humble submission to everything contained in the Deposit of Faith that the Incarnate Word, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, entrusted exclusively to the Catholic Church. It is thus the exaltation of religious indifferentism (the belief that it doesn’t matter what religion one belongs to, if any religion at all, as long as one is a “good” person) over the necessity of belief in the one and only true Faith, Catholicism that provides the primary means of salvation and social order.
A truly Catholic Political Philosophy
We do not mean to deter people from actively suppressing moral evils in Philippine Society and pursuing legitimate social causes. Nevertheless, the integral filipino Catholic should understand the political and moral principles which are at play in his own culture. There is not a permanent peace and order to be hoped for in Philippine Politics, for as long as the errors of Liberalism dominates the mentality of the Philippine People, or of any other of the Spains and the rest of the former Great Christendom, for that matter. We in the círculo do not think that the filipino Catholic of “conservative” bent should hold up, as an ideal, the very system which gave us the dreadful problems which are causing our current political woes.
The perfection of Catholic political philosophy is to go even beyond confessionalism. It’s to achieve Catholic Unity for one’s country: which not only recognizes Our Lord Jesus Christ as King and the Roman Catholic Church as the one, true Church of Christ but also applying in the kingdoms the laws of Christ in every single aspect of society. This was a reality in the Philippines as part of the Spanish Catholic Monarchy. As apparently distant and impossible as a return to this state of affairs may seem, it must nevertheless, by definition, be the filipino Catholic’s ideal, since a Catholic would not be a Catholic unless he desired such a state of affairs for his country. The Cause of Hispanidad is the Cause of every good Catholic in those territories.
