Any Catholic who spreads the Social Doctrine of the Church, who speaks to his friends about what the Church rightly teaches in political, social or economic matters, or who exhorts other Catholics to love and be faithful to the Catholic tradition through pious devotions and books, indirectly favors Carlism.
As much as it pains the enemies of Carlism, and no matter how much they gnash their teeth, no matter how much they stomp back and forth and swear and curse without rhyme or reason, Carlism is grateful to the people who do all of the above. Naturally, if you adhere to the Catholic Church and aspire to holiness, you are a friend of Carlism. Carlists are Catholics before they are Carlists, so every seed sown in favor of the Church or of Truth itself, helps to fertilize the ground for the emergence of Carlism where it is not yet known.
It would be of little use to establish a monarchical regime in Hispanic territories if the vassals of the King were not good Catholics or if the King himself were not. If the people are not aware of their duties to the true religion, if they do not first keep fidelity to Our Lord Jesus Christ, it will be even worse for the one who rules according to the Hispanic tradition, to whom power is given from above, as Christ would say about the divine origin of political power. In the same way, if the King does not seek to know and fulfill his religious duties, if he is unfaithful to Christ, he will be all the more unable to fulfill his duties to his vassals or to provide for their welfare.
For this reason, Carlism relies heavily on the religiosity of the people and of the King, and it sets as its initial strategy the regeneration of a society uprooted from its Catholic tradition. In fact, this is what Carlism is in essence: the Minor Christendom, Hispanidad. At present, it is a commitment to fulfill the rights of Our Lord above all else in a world that seems to have abandoned them.
Whoever claims that carlism is unfeasible, that it is utopian, that it is only possible in the imagination, would have to prove that catholic monarchies are impossible in and of themselves. Whoever affirms such things does not understand Carlism and ascribes to it a doctrine invented at some point in history by who-knows-who for who-knows-what and to whom-knows-where.
Carlism is a continuation of the Hispanic tradition: it did not appear out of nowhere. It is a remnant of Christendom in Hispanic lands, affirming and perpetuating the political harmony that so favored the salvation of souls while Christendom remained institutionalized. Just as God Almighty guided the Israelites through the pre- Christian centuries, in spite of that people’s deviations and abandonment of Our Lord, and was able to restore order where it had been lost, so the Christianization of our institutions will be restored when God wills it.
The final judgment may come before then, but in the meantime, are we going to replace the Catholic concept of politics with the secularization of our institutions?
Will we abandon the fulfillment of our duties to true religion? Will we abandon God by allowing ourselves to be conquered by the perfidious secularizing concept of politics, so harmful to the salvation of souls? Certainly not!
